Refreshing and sweet. This smoothie is a great base for any fruit or green smoothie, or great by itself. I wasn't feeling well one morning and this came to mind. Settled my stomach and I felt so refreshed after drinking it.
2 C Cold Water
2 Ripe Bananas
2 Big juicy Oranges, peels off
2 C or 1 tray of ice.
Blend on smoothie or high until it resembles a slushy.
Enjoy!

Grapefruit with Dates
I love grapefruit, but growing up I always poured sugar all over it. So now I usually eat it with a little swirl of agave, but last week I found this great alternative. Sweet, sour, AND chewy.
1 Grapefruit
2-3 Chopped Medjool Dates
Cut the grapefruit in half and top with dates.

Buckwheat Cereal and Bananas
I got this idea from Ani Phyo's raw food book. A great cereal and another "sun dried" food for me. I liked it much better than most other sprouted grains I've tried for cereal since it didn't have too much flavor, and it stayed solid.
5-6 C Buckwheat
Soak it in water overnight. Draining off the water a few times and refilling it with fresh water.
Once sprouted, drain all the water off and pour buckwheat onto a big cookie sheet. I know you can use a dehydrator, but I actually just set these out in the sun all day, mixing them up by hand every couple hours until they were hard and crispy. Then I stored them in a Tupperware cereal holder.
Serve with Almond Milk and cut up bananas.
It is nice and textured, and the bananas add just enough sweet.

Raw Flax Sun Cakes (Raw Pancakes)
This was a super quick and easy "sun cake." It was made in the sun, not a pan :) These are good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack or even topped with some berries and cream for a dessert.
Since my dehydrator officially died a while back, it's been good timing to try out sun drying. So far it's worked like a dehydrator, if not better.
4 C Flax Seed, blended into meal (I did 2 cups at a time so it wouldn't overload)
Pour into a bowl and mix in
1 tsp Sea Salt
3/4-1 C Agave
1/4 C Melted Coconut Oil
1/2 C Water
Add the water a little at a time, just until the mixture all sticks together. Then roll out and use a cookie cutter for small "cakes" or roll into balls in your hand and flatten.
Serve with strawberry jelly, raw whipped cream, coconut cream, syrup, almond butter...the options are endless!
I put these on a cookie rack and sat them outside for a few hours, but you can eat them right away. Store in the refrigerator for a quick snack!

"Scrambled" Avocado
1/2 Ripe Avocado
Sea Salt
Black Pepper
Put salt and pepper on avocado and mashed it up together or eat plain out of the shell. Or put it on top of flax crackers or raw bread. It has a texture and taste of scrambled eggs.

Raw Banana Crepes
Banana Crepes
3-4 Very Ripe Bananas
Blend in a blender until pureed. Pour out onto teflex sheets (or I've used parchment paper) and dehydrate over night. You can flip them if you want, but I didn't.
Fill with Strawberry Jelly.
1-2 C Strawberries, Thawed.
1/4-1/2 C Agave
1 T Lemon Juice
and top with
Raw Whipped Cream
Juice of an orange
1/4 C Agave
1 C soaked cashews
1 tsp Vanilla
It turned basically into a banana fruit leather. Maybe I would add flaxseeds to thicken it next time. However it turned out so yummy.

Strawberry Shake
Strawberry Shake
This has become a favorite lately. You can add spinach to make it a "green smoothie" but everyone loves it just the way it is. It tastes like a frozen yogurt.
1 C Frozen Strawberries
1 Frozen Banana
1/2 C Almond Milk
2 TBSP Pure Organic Grade B, Maple Syrup
1 tsp. Vanilla
Pulse in blender until smooth. Will be very thick. YUM!

Usual breakfasts (Luckily the kids have really picked up on these ones and they are not begging for food a while later because of empty calorie/sugar cereals! (Still adding in the lunch and dinner items though.)
My favorite: 2 oranges, 1 C spinach, 1 banana, 1 handful of ice. Maybe some lemon. yum.
